China Camp Trail Run

IMG_6676.jpgThis past weekend I ran the China Camp Trail Run in San Rafael, CA (Hosted/Ran by Inside Trail), I only did the 5K. This is the first time that I ran a trail run, which was a pleasant change from my normal race running scene. The difference between a 5k and a 10k is definitely there! The 5k is a short enough length where you can still feel your muscles working. 10K can feel like forever, Half can feel like eternity, and the full is out of this world. LOL.

Saturday, was such a hot day and during the run there was barely any shades so the sun was beaming heavily on us runners. I could feel the burrrrnnn. LOL.  They also held a Half marathon, which my oldest sister ran and she said it was extremely tough where she even had to stop and walk! (IMG_6684She is an avid marathon runner, btw).

Anyhow, this was one of the smaller runs that I’ve ran and they gave out medals to finishers along with trophies and mini plaques to top finishers. Even with the hot run, I was able to finish 2nd female for my age group. Woo Woo!

After the run, they supply you with your shirt and snacks and drinks to refuel. Along with the normal recovery stations. The event over all was well managed and ran by Inside Trail. I would definitely sign up for another run with them!

“You may have setbacks, but just keep going.”

Do you know of any good runs coming up?

By the way, Happy Global Running Day!
