Although I’ve had the Louis Vuitton Pochette Metis since December 2017, I haven’t officially introduced her here on my blog. The LV Pochette Metis is one of my favorite bag in my collection and she deserves a dedicated post.
BACKSTORY:
I remember when I first found out about the PM back in 2015, people were going crazy, it was constantly being sold out and they were put on the waitlist. Even with all the craze, I still wasn’t sure on the bag so I continued to do more research. I planned to travel to Europe in 2017 so I was really hoping that they would have it in stock by then as it was still nearly impossible to get one in the USA unless you were extremely lucky.
I kept talking about the bag (which drove my younger sister crazy – which is a reason why she isn’t too fond of the bag now – hehe), then the day prior to going to Louis Vuitton in Paris at Maison Champs Élysées location during vacay, I checked their European/France website and saw that it was in stock to purchase (of course I couldn’t order). It was the first time that I actually say it in stock after stalking the sites so often. So I was extremely hopeful that they would have it the next morning.
Woke up the next day, stood in line before opening, and once I entered I asked the SA. To my surprise and deep manifestation, they actually had it in stock!! Not only was I able to purchase it in Paris, France, but also cheaper than USD pricing after conversions along with VAT refund. Definitely a good price and worth the wait!
I know that the Pochette Metis has been reviewed everywhere and posted all over social media, but I’d still like to give her a highlight here.
Dimensions:
- 9.84L x 7.48H x 2.76W inches
- I’d say it’s a medium sized bag.
Exterior: Full monogram canvas with the exception of the handle, side tabs (where you hook the chain), and front tab which is vachetta leather. 1 zipper compartment on the back of the bag. (Can easily store your phone)
Interior: Microfiber lining with two main compartments and a back slit where you can store slimmer items.
Front: Envelope style flap with a padlock closure. You’ll need to press left side towards the inner side to open the bag.
Back: One zippered compartment with metal pull tab.
Strap: Comes with a corresponding adjustable monogram strap
Since the ‘hype’ release craze of the Pochette Metis, it has had a lot of issues such as glazing and cracks. Many people have perfect bags without any issues and others have an issues here and there, while some had to have their PM recalled. I thankfully haven’t had any issues.
So, just be mindful when purchasing your bag and inspect and make sure that it is nicely glazed, the padlock is aligned, and anything else that had issues in the past.
Verdict: 8.5/10. The bag is just the perfect size to carry everything you need plus a little more. I don’t carry much so over stuffing the bag and stretching the canvas isn’t a concern. One major con is the closure since I don’t carry much sometimes it doesn’t close smoothly. A major pro is that now it is released in so many versions/designs. (Yes, the original hardware protectors are still intact.)
