I have been a long time member/customer of DSW- Designer Shoe Warehouse for as long as I can remember. One of the first DSW stores that I went to was in San Francisco on Powell St. which is prior to their newest location now that is located on Post St. It was gigantic with two stories and a mezzanine level. I was in awe (I was still in grade school) and shock that there were so many different shoes and styles out all at once. So many people. So many shoes. So many styles. So many sizes!
I am a huge fan of DSW and even worked there part time after college while transitioning / applying for jobs in my current career field. I love shoes, so it was a perfect job. I even continued working there for the next 9 months after obtaining my job here at the office. If you’d like I can elaborate more about my experiences and job in another post, but today I wanted to talk about the awesome #freeweekenderbag with purchase that DSW is currently holding.
Confession: I am a sucker for #freegifts (/w purchase) What can you say I am a total consumer? Hehe, but then again why not get a little something extra for being a valued customer knowing you’ll be purchasing something anyways? [Totally, trying to justify myself].
Note: DSW recently remodeled their rewards systems and now there are three tiers (DSW Club, Gold, Elite) rather than two (Member & Premier). I’m liking this system a whole lot more. You cam find more about there system here.
Thursday, May 3, 2018 was the first day for DSW VIP Gold & Elite to have first access on this Weekender bag.
It’s such a roomy bag and the compartment for shoes is a total plus, I have been wanting a bag like this and was swooning over one at Nordstrom but never purchased as I felt like it was just a tad bit too overly priced. So when this gift with purchase came around I knew I had to grab one during the early access before it is gone.

I walked into DSW hoping to find wedge sandals for spring and something that I can also wear to the office. I saw a couple of pairs that I like, but did not think that the price was justifiable and also did not have what I was looking for. (Although, I have many luxury, high-end items,I have plenty more affordable and bargain items in my wardrobe, I shop in cost and material in mind.)I am looking for something in particular and not with cork, espadrille, and at least 4′ heel height.
I tried on these and although they are nice, just not exactly what I was looking for:
Walking towards the flat sandals I saw the Dolce Vita – Parin Sandal and they were sooo comfortable and fit perfectly to my feet, but I was contemplating if the price point of $49.99 was worth it, they come in three colorways. They also had the Dolce Vita – Paci Wedge Sandal back this season. I purchased last year’s version, the back strap was more parallel to the front rather than slanted in this year’s version and I can personally vouch that they are absolutely a must have! I still wear mine to this day and even to the office.
Other than that, there just weren’t any sandals currently that caught my eyes, so I had to walk over to the flats aisle and was able to find the most comfortable flats and in the perfect color mustard! It’s so difficult to find nice mustard clothing/accessories so when I saw these flats from Lucky Brand – Echo, it was an instant buy. They don’t have the ‘Golden Root’ color online, but you can purchase the same pair in another color and they are currently selling for $49.99:
As I continued to walk down the aisle, I came across the Lucky Brand Caliya Flat. They are made of suede upper and rubber soles and oh my were they the most soft suede I have ever felt! They fit so nicely and was so light on the foot which is something I need when walking around the office building. There were also going for $49.99, you can purchase then here, likewise they come in other colors as well.
So, after so many try-ons I decided to purchase the Echo and Caliya pair by Lucky Brand. However, I am still dreaming of the Dolce Vita – Parin flats!! So, in order to received the weekender bag for free all you have to do is spend $39, which is extremely doable as each pair is almost around that price-point. Along with a coupon for the free weekender bag, they also had another one where if you spend $25 you get $10 off; $99 you get $20 off; and $199 you get $60 off! Double win because you can combine the two! So I was able to get $20 off my purchase and the weekender bag. #happycamper #happyweekend
